E-Glider paragliding

A bit of history

The development of the E-glider began in 2007, with the same philosophy that we abide by today: a light and storable machine where safety is first and whose construction is designed to fly using thermals.  In the early stages we experienced difficulties regulating higher current values, something that was necessary to solve. Ohm’s law states clearly that if we want power and simultaneously a safe voltage, the current will increase. We set to work on a paramotor equipped with a reduction. Success was achieved with a 12kW motor and a 1:2 reduction, and a 10kW motor with a 1:3 reduction, and we started test flights in mid-2008. The disadvantage of this system was the extra weight and losses from the reductor. By early 2009 we had found the controller we were looking for, which was able to function at such high current values that we could safely use a different motor with direct propeller  connection…

And that is where we are now, with a 15kW motor and direct propeller connection.
